Building A Lead Capture Page

Developing a well constructed lead capture page or “squeeze” page is a must for any email marketing business approach online. Whether the business uses emails to build a relationship with potential customers or to periodically introduce new information and products to your customer list, without a customer’s email and consent this convenient and effective form of marketing to your particular audience is not an option for you.

So, what exactly is a “squeeze” page anyway..? A “squeeze” page is a page that asks your potential customers to enter their name and email address. This could be in order to create a membership, to be included on a newsletter mailing list, or to gain access to some special information available on your site. Once your customer enters their name and email, they are giving you permission to contact them via email. This is very important because of the restrictions and penalties in place today to discourage unsolicited emails or “spam” from making it’s way into email account inboxes.

Building a good lead capture page is actually pretty easy to do. In general, you’ll want you lead capture page to include some strong sales copy, but also be pretty short on content. Remember, this page is really just a snippet you place on your site in order to have your prospects request more information. You don’t have to go into too much detail, at all…after all, this is part of why your prospects are going to be curious about what you have to offer. A few well placed bullet points telling prospects why they should opt in for more information will do just fine.

One of the great benefits of a lead capture page or “squeeze” page is that you don’t have to waste time contacting people who have no interest in what you have to offer. Just like a strainer your “squeeze” page helps to weed out those prospects who aren’t sincerely interested in whatever it is you’re offering. Also, typically the more information you require your prospects to fill out the more serious they are about listening to what you have to say; the more qualified your leads become.

So now that you know the basics of what a capture page is and what it should do…how do you actually build one? Well, if you’re familiar with HTML, or web page design, you’re in the clear. However, for most of us, designing web pages and learning HTML is beyond the scope of what we want to accomplish. Luckily, there are a number of inexpensive alternatives to building your own lead capture page block by block. Many of these lead capture creation tools provide you with a number of different templates for different looks to your capture page. All you do is provide the content and you’re off and running.

To find a lead capture creation system you can Google search search for lead capture creation or lead capture generation and a number of options will show up. I would highly recommend a creation system called marketing makeover generator . This is a great tool that offers impressive building and management features. This tool also allows you to test multiple capture pages at once to find out what combination of style and content is working best for you.
