1/18/08 update: Pictures of the meeting with artist Doug Horne I was able to sit down with Doug at Hawaiian Bills at the Caliente Tropics Resort
And ask some questions about what is on the horizon for him.
Of course we were drinking Mia Tais out of our Grog mugs as this was taking place, because
thats how we roll!!!!!!!! DIG?
Question 1: What are you doing out here in Palm Springs?
Doug: Stacie and I are looking to move this way and wanted to check out the local art seen.
The people seem nice and very laidback. We like that.
How long will you be in Palm Springs for?
Doug: We will be back in forth between Arizona and here for the next couple of weeks.>
I will also be back for TikiVille weekend from May 9th through 11th.
What are you working on now?
Doug: Original Art!! I have a couple shows lined up at galleries to show originals.
I love doing the limited prints but I am getting a lot of questions about original art
And I feel like I am excluding a bunch of tiki fans by not being involved with that scene.
Do you have any ideas for upcoming prints?
Doug: Just sitting here at the Caliente Tropics and enjoying this Mia Tia with
Stacie, Bill and you is giving me a lot of inspiration. I think I will take some reference photos
before we head back to Arizona. |
